Cartoons have power, and kids love to make them. Storytelling is an innate human ability.

Think of all the cartoons that have gone on to greatness, Disney, Marvel, The Simpsons, etc. They all began with simple cartoon storytelling. Through learning Comic Books, you will learn skills you could attribute to many different fields, Directing, Cinematography, Sound Effects, Lighting, Action, Visual Storytelling, and Composition. Not to mention, how to draw!

In this fall’s comic book classes, we will learn all the steps to making a comic book page. Students will learn visual storytelling, exciting drawing, comic techniques and study classic comics and manga. We will explore comics’ thumbnails, sketching, inking, and color! We will learn how to create a dynamic story with a beginning, middle, and end. We will learn the tips and tricks of the pros to create dynamic panel compositions and compelling action.
